The Birds and Flowers of Hong Kong

There is no better way to explore  an

environment than getting out with a camera to capture images that interest

you and your friends.

Mastering the techniques for managing

ISO,Depth of Field, White Balance, Aperture and Shutter Speed just takes a little time and a lot of practice.

The DSLR of today is a fantastic tool and can be complemented by "Post Processing" software to get the best from a particular image optimised for display on screen, the web or for printing.

Hong Kong is a unique City with endless opportunities for images of every possible style - including  family, sport, event, nature, landscape and "street" . Give it a try!

Hong Kong has many  places of interest to the lover of nature including unspoiled natural habitats such as the Mai Po WWF reserve, and the man made and maintained areas that include the many public  parks.
In particular there the 'Wetland Park' in the Northern New Territories while in the heart of the CBD 'Hong Kong Park' with it's wonderful Conservatory, and the Aviary which features an elevated boardwalk that offers birds eye views...of birds! Then there is Kadoorie Farm, the Lavender Farm and the Geo Parks; the Hakka Villages and the Kowloon Walled City.... etc, etc, etc.
These diverse habitats are just a start as the "outlying islands" the beaches and the hiking and walking trails add to the options available to the locals and visitors to explore. Despite our mild climate that sees changes in season and temperatures from 10C to 35C with 95% humidity we do have a very distinct summer and winter for the flora and fauna and the migration patterns of some famous travelling visitors that include the Black Faced Spoonbill.
The Hong Kong CBD is just 45 minutes by train to the 'The mainland' of PRC China which offers a vast array of possibilities for the photographer and will take many years to explore. In my twenty years in Hong Kong I have traveled to most provinces of the PRC
but have only seen a tiny percentage of what is there.
