On the day... get the shots that are being paid for!

At least 10 days Pre-Wedding

Wedding Services in Asia are one of the most competitive areas of the photography business with a host of professionals offering  services. The local style involves taking a set of images well ahead of the actual 'big day' and then another set on the day itself. That way the studio and some of the beautiful outdoor locations can be used and the several "must have"  icons also incorporated. I add some of this to my own "Western" style.

Meet the bride and groom and get to know them and find out what they are expecting. Show them some examples of my work and let them tell me what THEY want. Work through the shot list and edit so that it is customised to the brides satisfaction. The bride usually knows what she wants! Agree  price and the T's and C's.

Check all the gear...batteries...cards...camera, strobes.

Check it all again!

I use the 'shot list'  to make sure that the basics are covered and then relax and work with the wedding party to capture the unique feelings and expressions that always emerge on this occasion.

I meet the couple again and have them select the images that THEY like! I have no qualms about using the means that I have to correct and enhance images. I use a "least change" approach to clean up an image and will show the clients a 'before & after' image set.

It is "Traditional" but flexible as with any 'portrait' session I try to use available light and then look for a soft image that is technically correct in camera. Given good natural light I complement the scene with some fill flash to get the catch lights that bring  images to life.

After the big  day...but within 10 days if possible.....consider post processing. Agree deliverables and time line.

The 'style" is based on experience and is personal so mine will certainly differ from others.
